A container app runs on the Consumption plan in Azure Container Apps, with its minimum replica count set to 0. For several hours, the app receives no requests and has scaled in completely. What resource consumption charges does the app incur during this period?
About the AI-200 exam
Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate (AI-200) validates the ability to build, secure, and operate AI-powered applications on Azure: containerized solutions, AI-specific data management (vector search, retrieval-augmented generation patterns), integrating and consuming Azure AI and platform services, and securing and troubleshooting what you've built.
AI-200 replaced AZ-204 (Developing Solutions for Microsoft Azure) as Microsoft's associate-level developer exam, and it is not simply AZ-204 renamed — the content is specifically oriented around AI workloads rather than general-purpose Azure development, reflecting how much of day-to-day Azure development now centres on building with AI services rather than around them.
The real exam
Public information published by Microsoft. A CertRidge practice exam matches this format — it is not a copy of the exam's contents.
- Format
- Microsoft does not publish an exact question count for this exam; expect roughly 40–60 items across multiple choice, multiple response, and case-study formats in 100–120 minutes of exam time. Delivered through Pearson VUE, at a test centre or online with a proctor.
- Cost
- Approximately 165 USD; Microsoft prices the exam by the country in which it is proctored.
- Scoring
- Scored on a scaled range up to 1000; 700 is the passing mark. Microsoft does not publish the exact question-to-scale conversion.
- Validity
- Valid for 12 months, renewed for free by passing a short online assessment on Microsoft Learn before it expires.
Practice by exam domain
CertRidge practice exams draw questions in these same proportions, from a bank of 566 AI-200 questions. Open a domain for what it covers and free questions with answers.
Who it's for
- Developers building AI-powered features or applications on Azure — RAG pipelines, vector search, AI orchestration — who want a credential that reflects that specific work
- Engineers migrating from the retired AZ-204 toward Microsoft's current developer-track certification
- Backend and platform engineers integrating Azure AI services into existing applications and needing a structured way to cover the breadth of what's involved
How to prepare
- Weight your time by the published ranges: Develop AI Solutions by Using Azure Data Management Services is the largest single domain at roughly 25–30%.
- Get comfortable with containerized deployment for AI workloads specifically — Azure Container Apps and AKS are common hosts for retrieval and inference services, not just generic web apps.
- Understand the data-management patterns behind retrieval-augmented generation: vector storage and similarity search (Cosmos DB's vector search, Azure AI Search), and why RAG pairs a retrieval step with a generation step rather than relying on the model alone.
- Practise reading a scenario for what's actually being asked — a connectivity question, a security-configuration question, and a troubleshooting question often use very similar-sounding setups but require different answers.
